Behind the Lens

As a landscape photographer, I am always in search of the perfect light and texture to capture the beauty of the world around us. The White Mountains of New Hampshire hold a special place in my heart, and I am thrilled to be back home after 22 years in Arizona to continue my photography journey.

Photographing the White Mountains is an absolute joy. From the stunning vistas at Mount Washington to the tranquil beauty of the Presidential Range, there is no shortage of breathtaking scenes to capture. The natural beauty of the area is truly awe-inspiring, and it is a photographer's dream come true.

One of my favorite things about photographing the White Mountains is the way the light interacts with the landscape. The sun rises and sets over the mountains, casting long shadows and illuminating the rocky peaks in a way that is simply mesmerizing. The unique quality of the light in this region is something that truly sets it apart from other landscapes.

In addition to the natural beauty of the area, the White Mountains are also home to some of the most stunning abstract landscapes I have ever seen. These landscapes are characterized by their organic lines, textures, and patterns, and they bring an emotional dimension to my photographs. Whether I am capturing the abstract patterns created by the shadows of clouds on a rocky face or the intricate lines of a river winding its way through the landscape, I am always in awe of the beauty of these abstract landscapes.

To capture the beauty of the White Mountains, I use a Nikon Z6ii and a Mavic 2 DJI drone. The Nikon Z6ii is my go-to camera for landscape photography, and its full-frame sensor and high-resolution images allow me to capture the subtle details of the landscape. The Mavic 2 drone, on the other hand, gives me a unique perspective on the landscape, allowing me to capture aerial images that simply cannot be obtained from the ground.

Whether I am shooting from the ground or from above, I always strive to capture the essence of the White Mountains. The combination of natural beauty and abstract landscapes makes this region one of the most photographed in the world, and I am proud to be a part of that tradition.
